Deepavali Project – On The Press

We have completed our Deepavali project in Kampung Tunku Orphanage and Kuala Selangor Old Folks Home.
It was an successful project that a few lions from our club attended. We donated raw material of food and drink for the home.
Everyone was very kind and pleased that we have donated goods to their home.
There’s many people out there that need our help.

There are currently 28 participants of the Joint Project in the aid of Autistic Children all the way in Betong. Those participants comes from 4 sub-districts and 3 countries that consists of 26 Lions Clubs, 1 PDG and 1 anonymous donor.

Each of them had contributed RM500 towards the Joint Project and the balance money will be donated in aid of the Flood Relief in Thailand. Also, Lions Club of Tapah Central has pledge to donate another RM2000 towards the donation.

Sat, 12 Nov 2011, 3 pm (Thai time) – Joint Project at Betong.
Gather at lobby of Grand Mandarin Hotel, Betong.
Proceed to the Autistic Children Centre, Betong

Dress code: Lions vest.
Sat, 12 Nov 2011, 6 pm (Thai time) – LC Betong’s Installation Dinner.
Venue: Grand Mandarin Hotel, Betong.
Cost: RM60/pax

Dress code: Lounge suit, club jacket, or Lions vest.
Sun, 13 Nov 2011, 9 am (Thai time) – Shooting Range activity (for those interesting in shooting)

Optional – Each Lion should bring their own ear plugs, ear muffs, ear defenders or stereo headphones (to cover your ears). Also, each Lion would be paying for ammunition rounds (bullets) used during the shooting. Near the shooting range, is the largest Thai flag in Thailand.

Lions of PJ!! Let’s show them our support and care by donating some cash towards the Autistic Children in Betong as well as the Flood Reflief in and near Bangkok, Thailand. Thank you!!

Deepavali Project Part 1

On the 23 of October 2011 morning, Lion Simon, Lion Nick, Lion Ivan and Lion Shanker went to the Lovely Home in Kampung Tunku, Petaling Jaya. At approximately 10am, we arrive to the Orphanage. The children are very welcoming, as we bring in all the goods that we purchase to donate to the children. It took us around 10 Minutes to unload all the goods from our cars. We donated goods like, Rice, Beans, Milk Powder and other daily necessities. We went in to talk to the person who manage the home. Discussion about the well being of the home and we found out that they would need support of electricity bills and water bills.

Other than that, we have the opportunity to present the goodies to the management. Before we leave, few of the lions gets the opportunity to serve food to the children in the home. These children are all vegetarian and are well discipline, they line up before they take their lunch from the counter. The children were happy on our visit and we left at around 1.30pm in the afternoon.

Peace Poster Project 2011

Our Annual Peace Poster Project is going to be held on 13th November 2011, at Subang Avenue, Subang Jaya. The project will start off at 9am in the morning. Every year Peace Poster Project has been a successful project for the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya. The Winner of the Peace Poster Project will win up to RM400 cash, and other attractive prizes. Certificate of participation will be given for the first 200 participants. Dateline for registration is 05/11/2011.
